Delete your account

You can delete your eKhata account yourself, in the app or on ekhatapk.com:

• Sign in with your phone number or email and your password
• Open Settings, then the Security tab
• Tap Delete my account
• Enter your password, type DELETE and confirm

Your account is closed at once and nobody can sign in to it. Its records are kept for 30 days in case the deletion was a mistake, and are then permanently erased. Download a backup first (Settings > Backup) if you want to keep your own copy.

If you are the business owner, deleting your account closes the whole business at once, and 30 days later permanently erases:

• Your business profile and settings
• Customers, suppliers, bank and other accounts, and every ledger entry
• Bills, purchases, returns, payments, stock and stock movements
• Expenses, the cash book, staff, attendance, advances, bonuses and salaries
• Photos and files you uploaded, such as receipts, product photos and your logo
• The staff logins that were created only for your business, and every signed-in session

During those 30 days nobody can sign in or see the records, and you can ask us to restore everything. If you are a staff member, deleting your account closes only your own login and sessions; the business keeps its records.

Your records are permanently erased from our live system 30 days after you delete the account. Backups of our systems are kept for a limited time and then replaced, so a copy may sit in an old backup until that backup is replaced. We do not restore a deleted account from a backup unless the law requires it. We may keep information that we are required by law to keep. Messages you sent us by WhatsApp, phone or email are not part of your account and stay in those services until they are deleted there.

Write to [email protected], or message us on WhatsApp at 0307 6368099, from the phone number or email that is on your account. Say that you want your eKhata account deleted. We will ask you to confirm that it is really you, and then delete the account and its records in the same way. We cannot delete an account for someone we cannot confirm.
